On our 250th birthday of the great experiment called the United States of America, there is so much patriotic content to consume and I’m here for every bit of it.
The choirs singing patriotic songs, the flag that is being
carried on foot by country loving patriots from Washington state to Washington
DC and the constant barrage of fireworks from freedom loving Americans is just
what this country needs.
This beautiful yet battered experiment of people wanting to
be free from the tyranny of a king needs to be front and center for every
American citizen.
The FIFA World Cup has brought in visitors from around the
world who are discovering America for the first time and loving it. They love our freedom. They love our free refills
and they love the beauty from corner to corner that is America.
They have given us a gift. They have reminded us that we
have taken for granted that we live freely, speak freely and travel freely
through a country filled with like-minded yet politically opposite citizens.
Of course there are exceptions, but the majority of our
country, the ones who keep it moving forward daily, want what’s best for America. We stand for the flag. We sing the National Anthem, and we relish
doing it standing side by side. All you
need to do is stand with 300,000 people at the Indy 500 to witness how unique
individuals from all walks of life, love our country. Chills will overtake you
when you hear that many people actually singing our National Anthem.
Every generation has had to fight to keep our freedom. From the Revolutionary War to the present war
for the minds of our children, we cannot relinquish the education of our children
to the trending topics in the public school or artificial intelligence. So many men and women have fought and died
for us. We sit in our air conditioned
homes on these hot summer days only because there were men who died on
snow-covered battle fields littered with the blood of American treasure.
Each of us is responsible for educating ourselves on our history
so we can educate our own children and grandchildren about the truth. The truth that the Declaration of Independence
was signed by Christian men who were critical thinkers. The truth that they were filled with wisdom
and forethought knowing that men left to themselves would always fall to pride
and power. The truth that if our nation would humble themselves and turn from
their prideful ways, our Creator would heal their land. They knew this and they
acted upon it.
I am so thankful that I can sit on this Knolltop and write
these words before I rush off into the day of appointments, interviews and
family meals around our table. And I can only do it because of the grace of God
that went before those men 250 years ago.
Thank you, God.
Happy 250th Birthday America!
