Knolltop Farm Wife (Melissa Hart)

Welcome to my blog! I'm a wife, mother of four and a self-employed freelance writer. In addition to writing, I am involved in producing several dairy magazines and am the editor of Dairy Agenda Today where I have a blog there as well! This is a place where I can get what's in my head, down on paper (the internet). I hope you find encouragement and maybe a giggle or two!

Can it get any busier?

Good Morning from the Knolltop. Another beautiful morning and hopefully a beautiful day!

The boys are up and gone this morning for their FFA Spring Skills contest. JW is doing environmental skills, whatever that is, and Luke is going to be soil judging, playing in the dirt. I don't even know how to judge soil! Isn't it great that they are learning all this stuff? I just love FFA.

JW has a double header tonight, it should be a real test since all the seniors are gone. Sarah has VB practice today and her first tournament is tomorrow! Oops...I just remembered, I forgot to tell Grandma. Sorry about that mom!

I have to run to town today to get food for the VB tournament and material for Sarah to make a blanket. I guess the norm is to bring a blanket and everyone sits on their blanket while they wait to play their next game. Sarah's more concerned with getting a tie blanket made than playing the game...typical for a 12 year old girl.

I just got word of a new National Dairy Animal Welfare Initiative that is being discussed. A third party coming in to audit dairy farms to make sure we are doing things right. This sounds dangerous to me....when I get more info, I'll pass it along. Or if anyone else has any information, please share!

Gotta get breakfast!
